Yes — mature, responsible boys aged 12 and above may attend, accompanied by their father or a guardian for the whole course. Under-18s cannot attend on their own.

The currently confirmed course is for males only. Nothing further has been confirmed, and we would rather say so plainly than list something that does not yet exist. If other programmes are confirmed in future they will be published here.

No. Students who cannot read Arabic are taught the foundations of Arabic reading. Students who do not know how to perform wudu or salah are taught. Islamic learning can begin at any stage in life, and nobody should feel embarrassed about beginning with the foundations.

Fajr at around 05:15, morning adhkar and first breakfast, two hours of Qur’an memorisation, a second breakfast, then three classes through the late morning. Dhuhr, lunch and qaylulah. Asr, then free time until Maghrib. Evening adhkar and dinner, Isha, and a final evening sitting of Qur’an memorisation with refreshments and a recorded lecture. Lights out at 22:00. Prayer times shift through the year and the timetable shifts with them, so the exact clock times for your block may vary slightly by date. The rhythm of the day stays the same.

Yes — an hour for qaylulah or rest after lunch, and roughly from 16:00 until Maghrib in the afternoon.

Part of the point of the fortnight is life away from screen-centred distraction. There is no confirmed formal policy on devices, so please ask Yasin Fox if you want to know exactly how this is handled.

Cigarettes, alcohol and drugs are forbidden — anyone who smokes, drinks or takes drugs is expelled without a refund, even on the first day. Drones and musical instruments are also not permitted.

Yes. The day starts at around 05:15 and the organiser enforces the 22:00 finish, because the second one is what makes the first one possible.

A traditional rammed-earth family house in Oasis Tighmert, rented by Firm Foundations for the year — full board and shared throughout, not a hotel, flat, resort or riad.

No. Rooms accommodate two, three or four people depending on the size of the room. Private-room accommodation is not offered.

Each attendee is provided with a mattress, a blanket, a pillow and bed linen. A sleeping bag is on the recommended packing list, and is genuinely useful for the weekend nights on the coast.

Some weekend accommodation on the coast is in tents or chalets rather than in the house.

Everything, throughout the fourteen days — breakfasts, tajine or couscous for lunch and supper, and the weekend BBQs and the farewell braai.

The traditional local breakfast — typically bread, olive oil, honey, cheese, butter, amlou, eggs and Moroccan green tea.

Meals you buy independently from restaurants during time in Guelmim or Sidi Ifni. Bring appropriate pocket money for those.

Three ways in: via Agadir Airport by pre-booked taxi (about 1,000 dirhams); via Lanzarote and Guelmim Airport, twenty minutes from Tighmert; or overland from Agadir by shared grand taxi, the cheapest but longest option.

No. Attendees arrange and pay for their own flights and airport transfers. The organiser may assist with arranging a pre-booked taxi, but the taxi cost is not included.

Entry requirements depend on your nationality and change from time to time. Please check the current requirements with the relevant authorities for your own passport, and contact Yasin Fox if you need supporting information for your trip.

The organiser may assist after arrival with obtaining a local SIM card and credit, currency exchange, and guidance on purchasing suitable Moroccan clothing.

Cheaply and easily — shared taxis between the village and Guelmim, and petit taxis within the city. Avoid travelling after Maghrib, when there are far fewer taxis about.

The organiser charges a flat rate per night for food and accommodation on any extra days. Raise it with Yasin Fox when you book rather than on arrival.

Guelmim has hospitals and a number of pharmacies, about fifteen to twenty minutes from the village. Bring any regular medication with you, and arrange your own travel insurance before you fly — the course fee does not include medical cover.

An evening in Guelmim, the overnight excursion to the coast at Sidi Ourzeg, a day trip to Sidi Ifni, and Fask, Taghjijt and the closing braai — which of these happens on which weekend is set by the organiser for your block, not fixed here.

Fishing gear should normally be brought by attendees. Limited equipment may be available if arranged in advance — ask Yasin Fox well before you travel.

They are part of the course rather than optional extras, but they exist to support the fortnight, not to replace the study. If you have a particular concern, raise it with Yasin Fox.

£580 for the fourteen days — roughly $780 or €680. A 50% deposit is payable when booking and the remaining balance is payable upon arrival.

Each course block has a limited number of places. Check the Enquire page for the current availability status of the block you want, and the organiser will confirm exact numbers when you ask.

The programme is identical in all three. The practical difference is travel: the second block falls over the peak holiday period, so flights are likely to cost you more. The course fee stays the same either way.
